As perceptions towards career choices change, children prefer to explore themselves before they commit to lifelong professions. They cannot solely rely on traditional skills for success, as they are also expected to be able to design innovations, tell stories, develop rapport with each other and synthesize seemingly disconnected pieces of information in new ways. Thus, it makes sense for a parent to pursue a Higher education to the strength of the child.
It thus becomes not only imperative to nurture their creative talent but also to provide them exposure to various facets of education.
Sometimes these students, who may conventionally seem to be illogical, confused scribblers and misfit, could actually be gifted with creativity, imagination and innovation. It is hard to tap such talent at early age but if one succeeds in doing so, it could be an opportunity for them to discover their potential. Today every industry and profession worldwide needs such innovators, out of box thinkers, unique solution providers and creative leaders.
Design thinking, or Integrated Thinking, is one such skill that enables one to create a new world, visualize unseen dreams, solve problems, and define new rules. Designers are not only artistic but also carry a strong cultural and social sense which enables them to bring their ideas to real world and make them successful. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg, M.F Husain, David Ogilvy, Walt Disney, Mira Nair – and many more – all reached the peak of their careers after having mastered this ability.
We strongly believe that, with “Design Thinking”, the hidden potential in our children needs to be tapped into at an early age before they lose it due to stereotypes, conventional expectations, and being pushed towards unsuitable career choices.
DSK World Education Council presents a unique Design Olympiad for students at secondary and higher secondary level schools to discover their hidden talent and aptitude for design.
DSK International Campus, an internationally acclaimed Design institute which conducts five year Integrated International Masters program certified by French government, will support this Design Olympiad. The Olympiad will be conducted in three levels at school, regional and national level.
We believe you will motivate the young ones to participate in the first round, which would be conducted at school on 15th Nov 2017
We look forward to your participation.
